On
behalf of the White River Rotary Club, South
Africa, I welcome you to our website. Our
club is situated in Mpumalanga, South Africa
which is a premier tourist destination being
only 25 minutes from the Kruger National Park
and close to some of the most interesting
gold discoveries in South African history.
We have vibrant and enthusiastic members involved
in Community projects such as Masoyi Home
for mentally and physically handicapped children
where we also have an orphanage. We have been
involved in the formation of the White River
Hospice, a project to supply books to schools
which is called Books-in-Homes and a wonderful
annual camp for children which is known as
Camp Quality. Details of all these projects
can be found on the website.
This
year we launched a new project which we believe
fulfills our obligation for Vocational training
based on the Australian Model for schools
to encourage the building and racing of electric
vehicles. Our inaugural race was a huge success
and the winners were rewarded with visits
to two of our most advanced research institutions.
Details and clips of the race can be found
on this website.
Our
Club meets on Monday evenings at the Ingwenyama
Sports Resort and Conference Centre at 18h00
and visitors are always most welcome to join
us and experience the wonderful Lowveld Hospitality.
This
year’s Rotary International theme is
Peace through Service and it is our wish that
our community service will help to improve
the community thereby help to bring peace
to all.
We
welcome new members and would gladly share
our wonderful fellowship and service to the
community. Should you wish to know more please
contact me directly at rsykes@iafrica.com.
I wish you all peace and goodwill.
